Ian Maxwell
Ian Maxwell or (Max) as he is sometimes known was born and raised in Africa, where his tracking career began.
He has always been comfortable in the bush, and was inspired by the indigenous tribes, where he learned some tricks of the trade. He has been on rhino capture teams.
Max knows how best to survive in the bush and is a keen snake catcher and bee-keeper, both skills are extremely usefull when in remote areas!
His tracking has spanned the globe, from the Arctic to South Africa, and Borneo to the USA. He is a large carnivour specialist and has tracked every big cat species, every elephant species and every rhino species, including the small and the extremely rare Sumatran rhino.
Max has presented a TV Series , Maxs Big Tracks, and Big Cat Track, for Discovery Animal Planet, which has been broadcast in over 150 countries worldwide.
He has also appeared on the BBC and led a BBC crew along the Zambezi, from Victoria Falls to the mouth.
He has a unique understanding of Africa, and enjoys immersing himself into tribal culture.
He is also an experienced bushcrafter and survivalist, and has instructed Ewan Mcgregor and Charlie Boorman for their epic Long Way Down documentary.
Max has been called to track down some of the most cunning humans and he has been called to court to to give forensic tracking evidence.
Max has trained trackers from the police and rangers in Argentina, Brazil, USA, Canada, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and South Africa. From Europe he has trained trackers from all over Europe, including Scandinavia.
He has tracked in the worlds hottest deserts, the deepest jungles, but is never happier than when he is in the woodlands of The uk.
