Dr. Jill Nash

Jill was born and raised in the English Lake District, so growing up involved plenty of camping, mountaineering and watersports. She left Cumbria in 1997 to go ‘backpacking’ around the world, and never looked back. After more than 13 years travelling to over 60 countries, she has experienced staying in plenty of flea-pits but now prefers to stay in luxury. She has written a series of guidebooks for the ‘grown-up’ backpacker, who love ‘adventure’ but like to stay in style. During her time travelling she has experienced everything from the world highest bungee to staying in a 7-star hotel and eaten everything from raw intestines to sweet and sour dog. She also has a 2 year old little girl, who often travels with her on intrepid adventures.

‘Global Adventures in Style’ a backpacking bible, followed by best-seller ‘Honeymoons in Style’ and recently ‘Family Adventures in Style’ a guide to travelling the world with your kids – are all retailed internationally.

Additionally to travel writing, Jill also provides editorial services to a variety of local magazines, and newspapers and appear regularly as a travel expert on BBC Radio Manchester, and has her own travel show on Wire FM. She also provides comment on a variety of travel issues for several nationals such as The Sunday Times.

She recently became a member of the prestigious ‘British Guild of Travel Writers’ and enjoys speaking for the National Geographic Society, Globetrotter Travel Club, Destinations Holiday Show, and the National Wedding Show.
